An Item's type is automatically determined from its URL.
There are 2 possible types:
Type | Description |
---|---|
ITEM | A simple Item that references a specific web page (e.g. the URL of an article). |
RSS | An Item that references an RSS feed (in mRSS format). The Item has its own Children Items - a Child Item for each URL in its feed. Note: this option is available for selected accounts only. |
The handling of both types is similar, with relatively minor differences.
The topics that follow refer to the ITEM type. RSS Items are similar, but have their own unique characteristics.
The
type
field is read-only - its value is automatically determined from the Item's URL.
RSS Items must reference a URL which contains a feed in mRSS format. Other formats will not be recognised as RSS feeds.
RSS feeds are for available for selected accounts only.
