Glossary

  • Account ID - A unique identifier for a specific Taboola account. When embedded in pixel code, it ensures conversions are matched to that account's conversion rules.
  • Network Account ID - A unique identifier for the network account. When embedded in pixel code, it allows conversions to be matched to network-level conversion rules and attributed to any account in the network.
  • Account pixel - Pixel code that contains a specific Account ID. Conversions are matched to conversion rules created in that specific account, and audiences are built from that account's pixel events.
  • Network pixel - Pixel code that contains the Network Account ID. Conversions are matched to network-level conversion rules and can be attributed to any account in the network based on click data. Audiences built from network pixel events include users from all accounts using that pixel.
  • Account-level conversion - A conversion rule created within a specific account. Only matches pixel events fired with that account's Account ID.
  • Network-level conversion - A conversion rule created at the network level. Matches pixel events fired with the Network Account ID and can be attributed to any account in the network.
  • Audience - (aka custom audience) A list of users who have taken specific actions on your website (for example, visited a page, added an item to cart, or completed a purchase). You create audience rules based on pixel events, then use those audiences to target your campaigns — showing ads to people who have previously interacted with your site. This is called retargeting.
  • Account-level audience - An audience rule created within a specific account. Only includes users from sites where that account's pixel fires.
  • Network-level audience - An audience rule created at the network level. Includes users from all sites/brands where the network pixel fires.
  • Retargeting - Showing ads to people who have previously interacted with your site, using audiences built from pixel events.
  • Click ID - A unique identifier assigned to each click on a Taboola ad. Stores information about which account and campaign the click belongs to, used for attribution.
