app-ads.txt and ads.txt

App publishers should update app-ads.txt.
Web publishers should update ads.txt.

Both files should be located on the root of your developer website, as reflected in your Google Play/App Store listing. For more information, see below.

🚧

IMPORTANT

  1. If you have more than one site, make sure to update the app-ads.txt records for each of your sites.
  2. Failure to add ALL the relevant entries to your app-ads.txt file can result in a significant reduction in revenue.

If you have any questions, please contact your Taboola Account Manager.

What is app-ads.txt?

app-ads.txt (Authorized Sellers for Apps) is an extension to ads.txt (Authorized Digital Sellers for Web).

It is an IAB-approved standard that aims to prevent unauthorized inventory sales and increase transparency in the way that digital advertising is sold.

You can read more at the IAB website.

How does app-ads.txt work?

App publishers provide an app-ads.txt file on the root of their developer website. This text file lists all companies that are authorized to sell their inventory. (You can find your developer website URL on your app listing in Google Play / App Store.)

Buyers check the app-ads.txt file to confirm which inventory they are authorized to buy, and to verify that the exchange and publisher have a legitimate connection to each other.
